Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups sifted all-purpose flour

  • 2 ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 eggs

  • 3 tsp vanilla extract

  • Granulated or colored sugar

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). Grease cookie sheets lightly.

  • Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together in small bowl.

  • Beat together butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.

  • Add the sifted dry ingredients, a small amount at a time, blending well each

    time.

  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on cookie sheet 2 inches apart.

  • Then butter bottom of a glass, dip in sugar and press down balls to 1/8"

    thickness.

Bake 10–12 minutes until golden brown and edges are set

Cool on wire racks.
